Games with Gold is Sticking Around

Games with Gold launched this year at E3 as an incentive for Xbox Live Gold members. The program offers two free games on the 1st and 16th of each month and each game can be kept forever. Originally Games with Gold was to be a limited-time program, lasting through the end of 2013.

Microsoft announced today, on Xbox Wire, that Games with Gold will be an ongoing benefit for Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox 360. It seems the program will continue due largely to positive feedback from the community. A recent survey says that “97 percent of participating members have given their stamp of approval for Games with Gold.”

This news comes as no surprise with programs like PS+ offering members free and discounted games. Just how long Games with Gold will last is not clear, but it seems permanent for the time being.
