GTA 6 to be a "Dream Come True" for Car Lovers

Rockstar is turning Vice City into the ultimate playground for auto enthusiasts.

Grand Theft Auto 6. I could end this article right here, and you'd still be scrambling to see what's new. The two trailers have been replayed countless times; we know the characters Jason and Lucia and all the chaotic moments happening in the background. But something's still missing. And that's cars.

Driving is a big part of GTA; in every title so far, that's how it has been. Yet, I don't see any noise regarding the cars. For car enthusiasts, the trailers are something else entirely. We're the ones pausing the video every time a car drives by, zooming in to check out every detail.

And after my research (I totally didn't check Lucia out), I can comfortably say that Rockstar Games is creating a car heaven. Cars in GTA 6 aren't just for driving from A to B; they're central to the experience. As they always have been. GTA 5, GTA 4, San Andreas, Vice City, you name it—without cars, GTA wouldn't get as big as it is. There, I said it.

First off, let's talk numbers. There are more than 800 cars, trucks, and motorcycles in GTA Online, which is more than ten years old. It appears like Rockstar isn't done yet, since GTA 6 is likely to come out with a similar lineup. A lot of fan favorites are coming back.

People have seen classic cars like the Bravado Buffalo, the Obey Tailgater, the Pfister Comet, and the Karin Futo. And the best part? These cars aren't just lifted from previous games—they've been rebuilt from scratch, with levels of detail never seen before.

One of the most exciting features is seeing multiple generations of the same car model worldwide.

Take the Vapid Dominator, for example, which is GTA's version of the Ford Mustang. In the trailers, we can spot a 1960s classic alongside a modern version from the 2010s. Players will be able to drive the car they've always loved in the exact style they prefer. With beat-up older cars and gleaming new sports cars sharing the same roads, Vice City will feel alive in a way that goes beyond graphics

Of course, there are plenty of brand-new vehicles as well. From what we saw in the trailers, there's a Chrysler 300-style sedan, Lamborghini-inspired supercars, and vehicles tailored for the Florida-style—or should I say, Leonida—setting of Vice City. Airboats for swampy areas, buggies for sand dunes, and even monster trucks. What's not there? Vehicles and vehicles and vehicles—you couldn't ask for a better game to drive in than GTA 6.

Rockstar seems determined to give players access to every imaginable type of vehicle.

When it comes to the small details, Rockstar's dedication is obvious. The Phoenix, based on the iconic Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit, has been perfected for GTA 6. It never looked quite right in the other GTAs, but now it features updated lights and vents that mirror the movie car down to the smallest detail.

The cars' interiors have received the same level of care. There's a brief moment in the trailer showing the inside of a Ruiner, GTA's take on a third-generation Camaro. Pausing the footage reveals a door panel that matches the real-life counterpart with crazy-good accuracy. Similarly, the dashboard of the Dominator GTX, the game's modern Mustang, has been recreated almost perfectly. Some cars even include working touchscreen radios, likely used for GPS and radio stations.

Even headlights and taillights have undergone major upgrades.

In previous games, they were essentially flat graphics that glowed. Now they have depth, with LED strips, visible lights, and complex patterns within. You'd expect this level of realism in a racing simulator, not a AAA game. One cool thing fans found was a four-door automobile that seemed to come from a junkyard, since the front passenger door was a different color. This hints at the possibility of acquiring old, rusty cars and restoring them piece by piece.

Customization is where GTA 6 truly shines. This is where creativity comes alive, and from everything we've seen, it will be the most advanced in any GTA game ever. Paint jobs—have a crack at it, and become Steve Jobs, for all I care. In the trailers, a pickup truck featured metallic paint with a deep sparkle, almost glitter-like. This suggests that the paint shop will be much more sophisticated, offering options like matte, chrome, and pearlescent finishes.

Decals and stickers, something we've been crying out for, are also making a return. Cars in the trailers sport large banners on windshields and smaller decals on side and rear windows. This level of customization allows you to craft vehicles that truly reflect your personal style. The body customization also appears to have received a major upgrade, with bumpers, spoilers, hoods, and exhausts all probably customizable.

Wheel and tire options are endless.

Some cars feature flashy rims; others have deep-dish tuner wheels, and trucks come equipped with chunky off-road tires. One of the most impressive visuals shows the same pickup truck in two different forms: one with a standard ride height and normal tires, the other lifted on giant mud tires. This strongly suggests full suspension customization.

Another thing I saw a difference in was performance. The traditional way of buying engine improvements in GTA Online, where gamers just clicked buttons, seemed lazy. Fans want GTA 6 to let them get their hands on things. You may go to a tuning shop and pick out a turbocharger that makes a pleasing whoosh sound or a supercharger that makes that classic engine whine.

The ability to perform engine swaps—installing a massive V8 in a tiny car—would be a dream come true for car guys. Rockstar hasn't confirmed the specifics, but the level of detail seen elsewhere suggests performance tuning will be more realistic than ever.

GTA 6 doesn't just include cars; it celebrates them.

The game seems designed for people who live and breathe cars. Earning a project car, spending hours in a garage perfecting it, and then showing it off at a car meet with friends is set to be what the new-gens would call "peak". The combination of returning classics and new vehicles makes GTA 6 the ultimate playground for anyone who loves cars.

The lifelike interiors and attention to even the smallest visual details make it feel like you'll be able to feel the steering wheel in your hands instead of your controller. Rockstar is going beyond looks and letting gamers customize their cars. It's not only about driving; it's about getting to know each automobile. It may sound ridiculous, but do I care? No. Just like car lovers won't.

GTA 6 isn't just another open-world game. It's a celebration of automotive culture. From the attention to detail and the range of vehicles, everything I said proves just that. Taking your dream car out for a spin through Vice City is the kind of stuff you have waited all these years for, and Rockstar never disappoints, especially when the topic is cars.
