Guitar Hero 5 Beats Beatles

The Beatles: Rock Band has been well and truly beaten in the UK gaming charts this week by its direct competitor - Guitar Hero 5.

It’s a somewhat disappointing week for the Fab Four as they’re also falling below expectations in the album charts also, losing out to Dame Vera Lynn, Jamie T, David Guetta and The Arctic Monkeys. The highest placed album, Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, sits fifth in the chart, with Abbey Road following closely behind in sixth.

Many are reporting that The Beatles simply aren’t ‘hip’ anymore amongst the younger generation, but in reality the poor sales figures may be down to its release late in the week, thus only having a few days worth of sales counting towards the chart.
