Guybrush in The Force Unleashed II

Huh. As it turns out, the developers who are currently working on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II are also doing a Star Wars-Tales of Monkey Island crossover game. Who would’ve thought?

 

No, I’m kidding. But a little slice of Monkey Island will be included in The Force Unleashed II.  The game will enable you to play as the Monkey Island series’ protagonist, Guybrush Threepwood.

 

Well, it’s actually just a Guybrush Threepwood skin that you can wear in the game. Just to confirm this is not a joke, TFU2’s official Facebook page confirms it’s legitimate. Check out the images below:

 

 

 

The game’s development process has been rough these past few months. With Haden Blackman’s departure from LucasArts (Blackman was executive producer/writer of both TFU1 and TFU2) and recent news of the PSP version of TFU2—and even a third game being cancelled—it’s understandable for the developers to be in low morale these days. Perhaps the Guybrush skin is a way to lift their spirits up; it’s certainly a nice touch, though.

 

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II will be available October 26th (October 29 in EU) for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Nintendo Wii, DS, and iPhone. A demo will be available during the game's release as well, so check it out if you’re interested.
