Mario Kart 8 Coming This May

The CEO of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, confirmed today at a corporate meeting in Japan that Mario Kart 8 will be coming to the Wii U some time in May. The information was acquired by the Wall Street Journal's Digits blog during Nintendo's briefing in Japan.

Last week Nintendo cut their financial forecasts after they projected they would sell 2.8 million Wii U's instead of 8 million by March 2014 and the 3DS from 18 million to 13.5 million units. Perhaps Mario Kart will boost sales of the Wii U and help Nintendo during their crisis. 

Mario Kart 8 was first announced at E3 2013 and will include gravity-defying mechanics that will allow racers to drive on walls.
