Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is an upcoming action role-playing game set in The Lord of the Rings universe. Developed by Monolith Productions and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Shadow of Mordor will bridge the gap between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings saga.

Players will take control of Tailon, a ranger of Gondor, who dies while guarding the Black Gate of Mordor. Revived with wraith-like abilities Tailon now seeks revenge for his death.

In this open world of Middle-earth players will have the freedom to roam the world and pursue side quests. The highlight of Shadow of Mordor, The Nemesis System, allows the player to interact with specific characters on their journey and influence their behavior to shift the story. Enemies will also interact with Tailon, changing their behavior based on the player’s actions.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is set to release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on September 30 in the Americas and October 3 in the UK. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will release in November on the 18 in NA and 21 in the UK.
