Modern Warfare 2 Dominates

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has taken the world by storm by making more opening day sales than any other entertainment property in history. The game made $310 million in it’s first day in just the US and UK alone, which laughs at the previous record held by Grand Theft Auto IV with $170 million.

The game is also rumoured to be close to breaking first week records too after just two days worth of sales. Robert Kotick, CEO of Activision, described it as "one of the largest entertainment launches of any media of all time".

The game is doing so well and become so popular that it even crashed the entire PlayStation Network, due to the sheer volume of users attempting to play the game online. Infinity Ward's Rob Bowling was very quick to quash doubts in their game, "It's a server overload not a bug in the code," stating that it looked like it was “the amount of connections at once that killed PSN."

Modern Warfare 2 is the sixth installment in the popular Call of Duty series and sees you trekking across the globe in a bid to stop the ultranationalists who have taken over Russia, and also numerous terrorist attacks that are taking place over Europe.

The game is available to buy now from all good retailers – if they have any left – on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.
