More Halo Through 2015

Bungie isn’t sure if they’re going to make more Halo games after Halo: Reach is released sometime next year. There were already declared statements that Bungie would just leave Master Chief’s fate up to Halo fans during the (*SPOILERS*) Halo 3 legendary ending. Even though that is mostly the case, Microsoft isn’t ready to give up the popular franchise just yet.
Frank O’Connor, the director responsible for the Microsoft Label 343 Industries, recently told USA Today that his creative company has “a plan that goes out at least six years," after Halo 3: ODST has successfully sold 2 and a half million units in just under two weeks since its release. The way O’Connor wants to continue the series is to expand more on the Halo 3 legendary ending. O’Connor also stated Master Chief’s and Cortana’s fate “would be irritating if they were just cliffhangers."
With the prequel Halo: Reach coming out sometime in 2010, and a string of animated shorts in Halo Legends to be released soon, then add in various kinds of media (novels, comics, etc.) to continue Master Chief’s storyline, this is definitely “a plan for the way the canon all ties together and the way the comic books and the novels all tie together," O’Connor added.
