New Level-5 game goes back in time

Last month, Level-5 president Akihiro Hino was planning to announce a game that he hoped would be extremely anticipated by fans. It seems that Hino has kept his promise, revealing a new Level-5 game that will focus heavily on the concept of time travel. Unfortunately, it is not Dark Cloud 3.

For this time travel-themed game, writer Jiro Ishii will be involved with the project. Ishii is well-known in Japan for his collaboration with 428: Fūsa Sareta Shibuya de, an adventure/visual novel game that was met with critical acclaim, most notably with Japanese magazine Famitsu giving it a perfect 40/40 score.

The Level-5 CEO said that this game would be part of a series that will prove to be a hit for the company. Hino also said that it will be developed for an unreleased hardware. For all we know, Hino could be hinting at the game launching on the Nintendo 3DS platform. It does make sense, since Level-5 does have a strong relationship with Nintendo, evident with the Professor Layton games being released on the DS.

Level-5 also just revealed the very first concept art for the game, which will now bear the name, Time Travelers.
