Next Tomb Raider Game Might Be Open-World

According to the latest issue of PC Gamer magazine (via CVG), Lara Croft’s next great big adventure will most likely be set in an open-world environment.

Lara Croft might be free-roaming (and tomb raiding of course) in her next adventure.
The magazine states that the next Tomb Raider installment will be "set on a Japanese island, and the idea is to have one, cohesive level with multiple ways around the puzzles." It will also feature a much younger Lara Croft, who is “inexperienced in the ways of raiding tombs."
Earlier this year, Eurogamer had reported a rumor that the next Tomb Raider game was slated for release at Christmas 2011 for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. In case you're wondering, this will be a continuation of the main Tomb Raider storyline, and not of the recently released isometric platformer, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.
