During the Future Games Show one game in particular caughty my eye, Operation: Tango. The trailer made it look like two games, one in which you play a spy sneaking around various offices in order to steal intelligence, and another in which you play a hacker doing much the same, whilst aiding a spy at the same time.

Operation-Tango

Now, thanks to a detailed look at the game from GamesRadar+, we know what you'll be doing when Operation: Tango launches in 2021.

In reality this is a co-op game. One player will be sneaking around a building tyring to steal valuable intelligence, while the other will be hacking the cameras, drones, and other various machines in the building to help them progress. Should the spy come up against a door with a keycode, the hacker needs to find that keycode and get them inside. If a drone is approaching the room where the spy is, the hacker needs to warn the spy and help them avoid it, and so on.

In many ways, the game takes inspiration from Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes. Each player needs to be fully engaged at all times, but that's difficult when the onus is on one player to do the bulk of the legwork. That's why the spy can't hack anything, and needs to rely on the hacker to let them into certain doors, and guide them to the next location that they need to be in.

Needless to say, a good headset and communication skills will be imperative to Operation: Tango. It's also likely that more than a few friends will fall out over failures, but that's all part of the fun.

We'll keep you up to date with the release date of Operation: Tango as and when we know more.
