Around the mid-2000s, devoted Playstation developer Insomniac released one of the best platformers on the console: Ratchet & Clank. Story was dedicated to a duo that couldn’t do without each other, solving problems in outer space and defeating evil, albeit with some comic relief and mostly cartoon motifs thrown in. It immediately caught the attention of gamers and became very famous for its gameplay and hilarious storylines. While the series saw a draught in the recent past, Insomniac brought Ratchet & Clank back to frame with its latest installment: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

Game only saw a PS5 release in 2021, which showed the exclusive partnership between Sony and Insomniac. However, things are about to change with R&C: Rift Apart, as it is going to be the first Ratchet & Clank game to be released outside the Playstation platform. It is planned to be released for PC, and the PC port is going to be handled by Nixxes Software, due to Insomniac being busy with their upcoming and ongoing projects. Meanwhile this sounds a bit unoptimistic, Nixxes software has spared the details of the PC port and they are going to optimize the title as best as they can before its launch.

In the blogpost of Nixxes Software, they state they will add new aspect ratios for widescreen monitors, unlock the FPS cap, add support for keyboard and mouse and have options to customize the game graphics-wise. Just like any other Playstation title, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Away will also include ray-tracing and upscaling technology embedded to its gameplay, so we expect it to be power-hungry when it comes to performance.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be released on both Steam and Epic Games Launcher on 26th of July, 2023. If you want to are looking for a classic platformer with great graphics and gameplay, keep an eye out for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart in the future.
