Reach Breaks Records
News by Craig Bryan on Sep 21, 2010
Since its launch on September 14 Halo: Reach has already gone on to break a pretty impressive record, for having the most concurrent users playing through on Xbox Live. Bungie announced the accomplishment via their Twitter account, and have since hinted at breaking records for opening day and opening week sales on the Xbox 360.

Halo 3 sold approximately 3.8 million copies in its first week, but Bungie claim to have surpassed the $200 million mark in first day sales with Reach, and with figures like that being bandied around it seems only a matter of time before both sales records are announced. The game is currently being sold as three separate retail editions – standard, limited edition and legendary edition.
The game is not only selling well, but has received positive reviews across the board and currently holds an average of 91.74% on GameRankings and 92/100 on Metacritic, the highest scores seen from the series since the original trilogy of games were released. Most reviewers have been praising it for its key use of armor abilities and the added depth they bring to proceedings, as well as the package as a whole; bringing together the best elements of the entire series.
