Rumor: Shenmue 1 & 2 HD Remastered in Development

Shenmue 3 may not be the only game in the franchise in development. According to a new report from Rice Digital, a source from Atlus USA revealed that the first and second games in the franchise is getting the HD remastered treatment and is scheduled to release this year on PC.

No official statement has been released but rumors of a re-release have been circulating the internet for months. Until SEGA confirms the release of the HD Remastered this should be taken with a grain of salt.

Shenmue 3 was first revealed during Sony's E3 2015 conference as a kickstarter project. The campaign met its $2 million USD goal in 8 hours and ended with over $6 million in July 2015.

Shenmue 3 is scheduled to release December 2017.
