SHRED October Release

When a Tony Hawk game is due for release the hype machine is usually cranked up to the max, but this year they seem to be taking a more subdued approach, with many of you not even realising it was in production. “I think the sun has truly set on this series, and Skate has rightfully taken its crown. The fact that I hadn’t even heard of this game speaks volumes,” said one NoobFeed user.

Could it perhaps be they’re a little nervous about their product? It wouldn’t be surprising after last year's horror show that was Tony Hawk: RIDE, which centred around a nice enough idea, but was poorly executed and the software simply didn’t match the concept.

This time Robomodo and Activision are hoping to kickflip things into a higher gear and show what their board can do given the right execution of their software. The board will make use of various accelerometers and motion-sensor technology to create what they hope is a realistic, intense, unique and hopefully fun gaming peripheral.

Tony Hawk: SHRED, which is the eleventh main entry into the series, will be released October 26 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii.
