Smash Hits: Guitar Hero
News by Craig Bryan on Apr 14, 2009
For those Guitar Hero fanatics amongst us, i’m sure you’re already aware that the latest release in the series is entitled Guitar Hero: Smash Hits. For those who don’t, it’s essentially a collaboration of all the best songs of the Guitar Hero series thus far with the added bonus of being able to play through them with guitar, bass, drums and vocally. These parts haven’t been tagged on though, the tracks – which are all masters – have been completely reworked to cater for all parts of the band.
Smash Hits will take advantage of certain thing’s that were featured in Guitar Hero: Metallica such as Expert+ mode and some of the on-screen meters from band mode as they continue to refine an already winning formula. You’ll also see the return of the Music Studio, which lets you create your own songs and both download and upload them to GHTunes, a virtual music store that works exclusively with the series.
The game will feature a total of 48 master tracks from Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s, and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. The song’s confirmed from each game thus far are:
