Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army Series Being Developed for Consoles

The developers of the Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army series, Rebellion, have announced that the games have surpassed half a million sales through Steam, the Rebellion Gamestore and retail purchases. Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army was released just a year ago for PC, with the second installment arriving on Halloween of 2013.

In celebration of the series' birthday, Rebellion has significantly marked down the price of the games. Each game is currently 75% off, costing $3.74 each, and a bundle pack can be purchased for just $6.24. Do the math and you'll see purchasing the bundle is the wiser decision, saving buyers $1.24. Both games can be acquired at the discounted price through Steam and the Rebellion Gamestore. The Steam sale ends on March 3 with the Rebellion Gamestore keeping the sale going until March 7.

According to its sales, the series has clearly been a success, and Rebellion has more up their sleeves for console users. In the past, the studio teased at the possibility of the games coming to consoles, and yesterday they confirmed this notion.

Rebellion has yet to confirm which consoles the games will release on, but players will not have to worry about the games simply being a rehash of the PC versions. “We can’t say much yet but it won’t just be a re-package of the first two games - there will be plenty of new content to get stuck into,” said Rebellion's CEO and Creative Director, Jason Kingsley.

Kingsley further explained the reasoning behind keeping the specific platforms secretive saying, "Like many independent developers, we’re still learning the ropes and having a lot of conversations with the platform holders. We’re not at the stage where we can confirm the platforms right now, but we’re fortunate to have experience already from self-publishing on Steam and mobile, so we’re confident it’ll go smoothly."
