It was announced today that gaming company Sucker Punch Productions, who are responsible for the InFamous and Sly Cooper series, have been bought by Sony Computer Entertainment.

They will now develop games exclusively for PlayStation, much like they have been for the past nine years, but officially securing their services means there’s no chance of a repeat of Assassin’s Creed and Grand Theft Auto, which are both now being developed across multiple platforms.

“We’ve enjoyed an incredible relationship with Sony that has allowed us to combine our creative design capabilities with their guidance to make some of the best franchises to hit the PlayStation platforms,” said Sucker Punch managing partner Brian Fleming.”

“Equally important, the relationship with SCE has provided us the flexibility and trust to take creative risks and invent new properties,” he continued.

There are rumours that their next project will now be the completion of the InFamous trilogy.
