For all you PC-loving gamers out there, there’s news concerning your favorite digital distributor of goodies. Steam has announced that a new Beta client is available for those of you interested.

Yes, I own that game on Steam. Sure, I'll fight you, as soon as I have the time to play.

To participate you’ll need to go into your client and press the ‘Steam’ tab in the top left. From there on, go to ‘Settings’ and make sure it’s resting in the ‘Account’ tab. If all goes well, you’ll see a big ‘Change’ button you can press to authorize you to participate with the Beta.

This will allow for some changes regarding communication and the annoying fact that download speeds are shown to be a lot faster than they actually are, leaving you to angrily stare at a progress bar.

More importantly, the Beta will allow you to take screenshots while in-game by pressing F12. After exiting the game, the pictures will automatically be loaded into the Steam cloud, where they’ll be viewable for all your lovely peers to judge. Just make sure that your game doesn’t actually use that button already and don’t get shot while trying to make a killer screenshot, you hear?

On a sidenote: Yours truly is now also available on select games on Steam; just add the name DaavPuke.
