Steam Breaks Concurrent Player Record Once Again
Over 26 million users have been logged in at one time

Steam has broken its concurrent users record one again, with the latest figure being 26,344,951.

Steam database shared the news to Twitter.
The figure comes as a significant increase from last month, with the concurrent player base increasing by just shy of one million users since then.
The user base has increased considerably over the last year, presumed a direct result of the pandemic.
Increases inactivity are also observed after big game releases, of course: Steam saw a large increase in users along with the platform's biggest ever bandwidth peak.
It's difficult to say why the record broke today, but Steam is steadily on the increase as a service.
