There are some classic games that everyone wants to relive with updated settings of today. Let it be graphics, alternate stories or even the basic continuation of the niche game is enough to make people happy. But for whatever reason, most of the companies who are tasked with these portions of remasters and remakes tend to take things for granted and deliver overly saturated titles, easily Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Definitive Edition comes to everyone’s mind.

What makes most anticipating people frustrated is the straight-out cancellation of a project. With no trace whatsoever, some games they are waiting for just vanish out, leaving them in a limbo of just guessing what is going to happen next. Unfortunately, one of the projects of Sony has just taken the same approach. Any evidence of The Knights of the Old Republic remake, which was in the works, has been removed from both Sony’s website and social media. The whole disappearing business became clear once people searched for the short trailer of the remake and could not find it on YouTube.

Along with the video’s removal, mentions of it on social media such as Twitter have also disappeared without a trace. The only way to know if there was a KOTOR remake is by looking through a showcase video of Sony that was released in 2019, it is briefly shown with God of War’s then-upcoming title.

Although this might be something skeptical at first, it could have a double meaning. One possibility is, well, Sony pulling the plug on the project altogether. The hypothesis on cancellation could be the most reasonable explanation. Since there are a lot of games that are being worked under the roof of Sony to focus more workload on other titles. The second assumption could be the fact that Sony is planning to showcase the remake soon to people and get rid of the early content that has been circulating on the net.

Still, we have no idea what to expect from the game giant as they have not given a proper explanation for the disappearance of Star Wars: The Knights of the Old Republic. Perhaps the connection between Disney, EA, and Sony had come to a disagreement during the development and Sony had to ultimately sack the development and every single presentation that exists. We will have to wait and see what Sony has to say about it in the future because the sudden disappearance of a higher-ranking, anticipated title is indeed a curious case.
