Revealed last winter, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is "a weird piece of horror fiction" where players control the character Paul Prospero, a detective with a supernatural ability.

Capable of seeing the final moments of any person who has been murdered, the detective uses his gift as it should be used - for solving crimes. Following the investigation of a missing boy named Ethan Carter, Prospero soon discovers a homicide has also taken place and uses his gift to uncover the mystery behind the crimes.

Meant for adults, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter was created to tell a story that can only be told through a video game. Revealed yesterday, the below GIFs show small segments of the environment within The Vanishing of Ethan Carter.
