Third Borderlands DLC due this week

Last month, Gearbox level designer Jason Reiss announced that the third Borderlands DLC--which has now sold approximately 3 million units sold worldwide--would be the biggest add-on to the game yet. The surprising thing though, is that publisher 2K Games immediately issued a release date for the expansion. Titled Secret Armory of General Knoxx, this third Borderlands downloadable content will be available this week; the Xbox 360 version can now be purchased as of this moment, while the Playstation 3 and PC versions will be available on Thursday, February 25th.

The Secret Armory of General Knoxx will be available for $9.99 (800 Microsoft Points), the same price point as the other two DLCs, Zombie Island of Dr. Ned and Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot. As promised by Gearbox the level cap will be raised up to level 61, along with new array of weapons, new vehicles (can house up to 4 people now), and 30 new villains included in the package.

Borderland’s third add-on will contain an all-new storyline, picking up after the events of the original. After opening the Vault during the end of the game, things don’t go so well afterwards. Players will find themselves being pursued by the Atlas Corporation and will have to team up with Athena, a former Atlas employee, to help her take revenge against the company.
