Tomb Raider Trilogy heading to PS3

Sony sure is keen on re-releasing more HD renditions of past-gen titles. Like Sly Cooper and God of War before it, the Tomb Raider series will join the whole Sony HD collection lineup.

Don't you want to see this...in HD!?

A recent tweet by Crystal Dynamics’ global brand manager Karl Stewart confirms that the Tomb Raider Trilogy will be released on the Playstation 3. The three games consist of Tomb Raider: Legend, Tomb Raider Anniversary, and Tomb Raider: Underworld. This will mark the debut of both Anniversary and Legend on Sony’s platform; both games came out on the Xbox 360 a few years back.

The Tomb Raider Trilogy was first listed by Amazon Germany, stating that all three games will have Playstation Trophy support and will also include Playstation Home avatars. The listing also says this trilogy pack will arrive on March 22, 2011, though Crystal Dynamics has not yet confirmed an official release date.

While I await the release of Lara Croft’s next open world adventure, I guess it wouldn’t hurt to play these games again, right? I mean, Underworld is already out on the PS3. But with an HD upgrade and two more games, it's better, right?
