U2 Interested in a Rock Band Installment

Last year, U2 was in talks with Harmonix to put their songs in Rock Band 2. Unfortunately, they decided to pass in making that deal. But the band might actually take center stage in the rhythm genre scene this time around. In a recent interview with USA Today, U2 bassist Adam Clayton stated that “We definitely would like to be in there, but we felt some of the compromises weren’t what we wanted.” With the recent release of The Beatles: Rock Band last month, U2 suddenly wants to reconsider lending their songs in Rock Band, this time for sure.
Clayton continued on: “That could change. I love the idea that that’s where people are getting music, and we’d love to be in that world. We’ll figure something out. What The Beatles have done, where the animation is much more representative of them, is what we’re interested in, rather than the one-size-fits-all animation. We didn’t want to be caricatured.” So not only U2 wants to input their songs to the next Rock Band installment, but they want their own standalone project as well.
It’s highly likely that Harmonix would approve with U2’s proposal. It won’t be long before we see the polygonal versions of the widely popular Irish band.
