In a blog posting summing up the year for the Steam platform entitled Steam - 2020 Year in review, the company reflects on last year's statistics.

Predictably, Steam saw a huge rise in users over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic;
There were 120.4 million monthly active users and 62.6 million daily active users.
The article also described other statistics, such as 24.8 million peak concurrent users and 2.6 million first time purchasers per month. The number of games purchased has also increased by 21.4 percent since 2019.
This posting will mark the third, with there also being previous entries from 2018 and 2019.
