Unlocking the power of Instant Death and Explosive Tactics.

This guide is going to show you how you can get the Auto Death pictos in the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The location of this pictos is at the Yellow Harvest.
The great thing about this one is that whoever you apply this pictos to will die immediately at the beginning of the fight. You might ask why you should even want that. It's because there are different pictos that can be used to benefit from dying at the start, like giving buffs. You've even got builds that just delete all enemies by entering battle and not playing a single turn.
So, yes, people use this in creative ways. You can revive in the next turn, and if you can apply a bunch of buffs or eliminate an entire team just by dying at the start without actually playing, why not? It can be a really fun way to experiment with gameplay. These types of exotic pictos bring a unique dynamic that lets you enjoy creating something different and new.
Where to Find the Auto Death Pictos
This pictos is sold by a merchant not far from the beginning of the area. You'll see the merchant soon enough. If you look up at a pillar, you'll spot it perched up there. That's where you're heading. Once you're there, go ahead and initiate the interaction.
Make sure you also fight to get Teamwork. That's like a free extra 10% damage when your teammates are alive. If you activate Luminous, that means even more damage. This pictos is called Auto Dead Light, and yes, you're doing this in New Game Plus, which is why everything seems to be at a higher level. You'll notice it says "killed on battle start" — that's what makes it so effective and strategic.
How to Use Auto Death Pictos in Battle
Let's take a look at how you can use these pictos. You'll get effects like fully charging enemies' break bars on death, which opens up synergies with break bar-based builds. For example, you could start a fight with three burn stacks applied to all enemies just from dying. That means you don't even need to play a turn — after revival, the effects are already in motion.
If enemies are burning, you can raise your critical rate. If you've almost broken a target's bar, your death could push it over, letting you break the target with the next attack. You can even buff your team on death. Allies could gain Shell with a quick break or benefit from the cascade of effects that trigger from your initial death.
Want to get even funnier? Combine Auto Death with Second Chance. That way, you'll die, get revived instantly, and kick things off with all your buffs and effects in play. It's a really dynamic setup. Another cool trick is dying to gain three shields. Sure, most people are going to use this to wipe out enemies by killing off their own party instantly, but the defensive options are just as interesting and strategic.
Getting the Death Bomb Pictos
Now, once you get Auto Death, there's another pictos you definitely want to grab. It's right nearby for a reason. As you're going up, there's a pathway below. Head there, and you'll find another pictos waiting for you — Death Bomb.
This one complements Auto Death perfectly. With Death Bomb, you can boost your damage by equipping it across your characters. If you equip it to just one, it might not be enough to wipe out bigger enemies, but if you have it equipped on all your allies, you'll obliterate everything on screen.
You get the idea — it's super fun, crazy effective, and an absolute must-have if you're aiming for creative, high-risk-high-reward builds. Whether you're looking to speedrun fights, experiment with break bar setups, or just have a blast with wild new tactics, both Auto Death and Death Bomb pictos bring something truly unique to the table.
