Understanding the Frost Eveque's First Attack

You first need to understand its pattern when it says "attacked." This means it's about to approach you and conjure a spear, then slam it into the ground for a direct initial hit.

Following that first slam, one to three shockwaves will spread out from the spear.

Keep your movement sharp here because dodging those shockwaves early on can save you a lot of recovery time.

Recognizing the Spellcasting Attacks

The second kind of move happens when it says, "casts a spell." This has two versions. In the first, it summons an orb in its hand and shoots lasers at you—anywhere between one to three shots.

The other version involves using both hands to gather energy, which it then uses to launch spells that burst from the ground and move toward you.

It will attack twice individually in this sequence, then follow up with a party-wide attack that hits all members. Both patterns are devastating if you're not ready, so you need to keep your spacing tight and anticipate the timing.

Bracing for the Final Phase with a Quarter of Health Left

When the Frost Eveque's health drops down to a quarter, it will say, "unleashes its full power." This marks the beginning of a far more aggressive phase. The third spell attack now happens more frequently and at a faster speed.

It will repeatedly attack all party members with less room to breathe between each hit. You'll need to stay calm here because dodging and recovery time will be much tighter than in the earlier phases.

Dealing with the Gradient Beam Attack

Another powerful move you'll face in this final quarter is triggered when it says, "projects blasts of energy." You'll notice it begins to charge, and then it lets loose with a gradient beam attack.

You can't just rely on timing anymore—you need to preempt its pattern because the number of attacks ramps up here. You saw one to three earlier, but in this phase, it can go up to four, five, or even six. A lot of this depends on RNG, so be ready to improvise and adjust based on how the fight plays out.

Stay Resilient and Push Through

You're probably going to fail multiple times. Even now, you may find yourself struggling through parts of the fight, just like what happened during the recording.

But don't give up. If you keep practicing the rhythm of the attacks and learn how to read them, you'll eventually take the boss down. When you do, you'll be rewarded with a great Pictos, and all the effort will be worth it.
