This guide explains how to obtain the Digimon World: Dawn & Dusk duo—Lunamon and Coronamon—early in Digimon Story: Time Stranger. By following the outlined evolutions and de-evolutions, you can add both iconic partners to your party within the first chapter.
How to Get Lunamon Early
To reach Lunamon quickly, you should first convert a Punimon encountered in the open building area after the MetalGreymon (Blue) fight. After conversion, level it efficiently by farming encounters, converting additional Digimon, and then using load enhancements to sacrifice them for experience.
Once you have progressed, evolve Punimon into Nyaromon, and then digivolve Nyaromon into Lunamon. This streamlined path focuses on fast conversions and targeted leveling to secure Lunamon in the early game.
How to Get Coronamon Early

Obtaining Coronamon is more involved and depends on your starter choice, requiring Patamon or Gomamon to make the route possible in Chapter 1. If Patamon is selected as the starter, de-digivolve it into Tokomon, then evolve directly into Coronamon.
Be sure that Patamon’s personality aligns with the base personality requirements of Tokomon so that the evolution path connects properly. If Gomamon is chosen, de-digivolve it twice into its baby form and then evolve along the necessary line that again results in Coronamon.
This setup means that, within the first chapter, the practical way to obtain Coronamon is to guide your starter through the necessary de-evolutions and evolutions to reach it, with additional sources of Coronamon becoming available later in the game.
Early-Game Notes and Limitations

Within Chapter 1, access to Coronamon hinges on guiding the starter line appropriately, which may temporarily lock you out of other early evolutions if a different starter, such as a bat-type Digimon, was chosen.
While that alternative is stylish, it restricts access to several notable lines until later. By prioritizing Patamon or Gomamon, you can secure Coronamon sooner while still planning to diversify your roster as more areas and conversions open up.
Leveling and Conversion Tips

For rapid progress toward Lunamon and Coronamon, continue cycling encounters, convert newly scanned Digimon, and use load enhancements to funnel experience efficiently.
This method accelerates early growth, shortens the time to hit evolution thresholds, and ensures you meet the personality alignment needed for the Patamon → Tokomon → Coronamon route. Keeping your focus on these systems during Chapter 1 will make both partners attainable without extensive backtracking.
