Game Guide by Faviyan Mustafiz on Oct 07, 2025
This guide explains exactly how to unlock every Armor Digivolution and Spirit evolution in Digimon Story: Time Stranger, with clear steps on where to buy Digi-Eggs and Spirits, which materials and Skill Discs are required, the locations of guaranteed Immortal Eggs, and how to use your new items for fast evolutions.
You will learn when the vendor becomes available after the Volcanomon fight, which materials to gather in advance, and how to satisfy move requirements that the game checks before allowing purchases. Once an item is purchased, it can be used repeatedly across your roster, so you will not need to rebuy it for each Digivolution.
Progress Requirements and Area Access

Progress the story until the area featuring the boss Volcanomon is cleared and the Train is unlocked. After defeating this boss, return to the same area, take the elevator down, and locate the NPC vendor.
This vendor sells the Armor Digi-Eggs and Spirits, but purchases require more than just money; you must also have specific crafting materials and, in some cases, the correct Skill Discs in your inventory.
Purchasing Armor Digi-Eggs and Spirits from the Post-Boss Vendor
After the Volcanomon encounter, the vendor allows you to buy key items. For example, the Digi-Egg of Friendship requires Blackish Texture, mirroring the material you can loot from nearby chests.
The Digi-Egg of Sincerity requires the Tree Model, another option requires the Gravel Dataset, and the Digi-Egg of Reliability needs the Crystalline Structure Model.
Two advanced items—Digi-Egg of Miracles and Digi-Egg of Destiny—both require an Immortal Egg. Food-related requirements also appear: one purchase calls for a Barbecue Skewer Set and another for a Fruit Tart.
Some purchases additionally check for specific Skill Discs; ensure those are learned or unequipped on your Digimon before buying. Items you have already purchased will no longer appear in the vendor’s list, and once acquired, a Digi-Egg or Spirit can be used unlimited times for eligible Digimon.

Specific Item Requirements for Early Purchases
For the Digi-Egg of Courage, bring Fluid Animation Data. For the Digi-Egg of Love, prepare a Spherical Model. For the Digi-Egg of Hope, supply Brown Texture, and for the Digi-Egg of Light, collect Rusty Iron Texture.
Spirit items also have straightforward material checks: the Beast Spirit of Flame requires Digi Meat, while the Beast Spirit of Light requires a Digi Apple. Remember that certain purchases also require specific Skill Discs in addition to these materials.
Where to Find Materials and Key Items
Collect textures, models, and crystalline resources by exploring multiple biomes; these materials are distributed widely across the world. Digi Jewels appear randomly in Central City and at the Tower, so check both regularly.
There are two known static Immortal Eggs: one is located in the Factorial Area, not far before the Volcanomon fight, and the second is awarded for completing the Coliseum side quest later in the game. You also have a random chance to encounter Digitamamon in battle; defeating it can drop an Immortal Egg.
Shop Items in the Human World
The Fruit Tart and Barbecue Skewer Set is sold in the Human World at a shop. Buy these before returning to the Digital World; otherwise, progress can temporarily lock you out of acquiring the Human Spirits for a while.
Avoiding Progression Lockouts

There is a stretch of the story where the Volcanomon area becomes inaccessible. Make sure you complete your Armor Digivolutions and Human and Beast Spirits acquisitions before this point.
If you progress beyond it, do not worry; the next time you reach the Factorial Area, an NPC there will sell the same items, so you are not locked out for the entire playthrough.
Meeting Skill Disc Requirements
Many Digimon naturally learn the moves that fulfill Skill Disc checks. Keep an eye on the In-Between Theater as you progress; it is a helpful way to discover where certain moves appear, including options like Iron Slash 1.
If a requirement is not registering, verify whether a Digimon in your party already knows the needed move and remove it from their active slots so it counts toward the purchase requirement.
Using Digi-Eggs and Spirits to Digivolve

Open the Digivolution menu once requirements are met. With Agent Rank 3 and the Digi-Egg of Courage, any Veemon—including one freshly evolved from Sunsomon or converted—can Armor Digivolve immediately into Flamedramon.
The same applies to Gatomon with the Digi-Egg of Light, allowing a smooth evolution into Nefertimon. When you obtain the Human Spirit of Flame, you can evolve Coronamon into Agunimon.
After purchase, these items remain permanently usable, enabling instant repeat Armor Digivolution and Spirit evolutions for any future eligible Digimon in your collection.
