According to reports, Ubisoft has scrapped an Assassin’s Creed game called Assassin’s Creed Destiny, despite several promising ideas shown in previously leaked gameplay footage. Developed by Tencent subsidiary TiMi Studio Group, the game seems to be a new spin on the series.

The new leaked clip shows the new UI, umbrella strikes, and some eye-popping takedowns. The prototype might feel incomplete, but the combat animations and the cinematic sequences suggest that the project might have brought some new concepts to the series.

Assassin’s Creed Destiny Cancelled

Assassin's Creed: Destiny showed off a canceled adventure in ancient China.

Assassin’s Creed Destiny is supposedly set in China during the Qin dynasty in 206 BCE, four years before the events of Assassin’s Creed Jade, which is set in 215 BCE. Unlike the mobile-centric Jade, Destiny seems to be geared for today’s gaming platforms. The clip has a female protagonist; however, there are obviously male character animations present, possibly hinting at a selectable protagonist.

Gameplay features spectacular forest scenes, parkour, and a mission with Xiang Yu’s forces, with the film suggesting a possible confrontation with the historical figure. Prototype flick emphasizes flashy fighting and creative assassination techniques. The leaked build is purportedly from February 2025; therefore, the animations are incomplete and the look is poor.

The clip is a bit rough around the edges, but it does have some really neat takedowns, wall-running assassinations, backflips, and environmental interactions that help make it stand out from previous entries. Combat is meant to emphasize parrying, and good parrying specifically, and the hero can paralyze adversaries with a gunshot or a dagger prior to doing acrobatic feats.

Ubisoft reportedly shelved numerous projects, but Assassin’s Creed Jade was spared.

Assassin’s Creed Destiny is reportedly one of many projects that were terminated around the same time, according to the source. They reportedly included third-person action game Athena, set in Greek mythology, and cyberpunk open-world game Invictus, helmed by Assassin's Creed veteran Ashraf Ismail.

There is also a yin-yang logo on the UI and ink-brush-style ability icons, which makes the game appear different. Meanwhile, Assassin’s Creed Jade is still supposedly in development, despite years of few updates. Assassin’s Creed Hexe, Ubisoft’s next big game, is likewise likely to be a hit.

Although certain recent leaks could not reflect the current state of the game. While the termination of Destiny leaves many questions unanswered, the film hints that Ubisoft and Tencent were trying to find ways to make the brand stand out. It is unknown if any of these motifs will show up in future Assassin’s Creed games.
