Requirements

Before beginning, the following items and facilities must be available: a Fabricator, a Small Refinery, and a Construction Tool to build them.

These components form the core of the crafting process and are essential for creating both the Survey Probe and its launcher.

Crafting the Fabricator and Small Refinery

Use the Construction Tool to assemble the required machines. Equip the tool, press R, and select the Fabricator category to craft one.

Then, switch to the Refinery category under the same interface to craft a Small Refinery. Both structures should now be placed and ready for processing raw materials.

Processing Copper into Ingots

Locate Copper deposits across the map and collect raw ore. Insert the Copper into the Small Refinery, which will process it into Copper Ingots.

These ingots are the primary material for crafting the Survey Probe and part of the recipe for the Survey Probe Launcher.

Approach the Fabricator and interact with it to open its menu. Navigate to the circular icon category, then craft one Survey Probe followed by one Survey Probe Launcher.

The Survey Probe requires only Copper Ingots, while the Survey Probe Launcher additionally demands an EMF Generator.

Obtaining the EMF Generator

The EMF Generator can be found as loot on Scav units or hidden within moisture caves. In these caves, tear away spider webs using a knife to uncover the concealed generators.

Once acquired, the generator completes the crafting requirements for the Survey Probe Launcher.

Equipping and Using the Survey Probe Launcher

Drag the Survey Probe Launcher into the hot bar for quick access. Climb to a sufficiently high vantage point—if the launcher is not used from the correct height, deployment will fail.
