This guide shows you how you can find the Whetstone in Limveld. If you are working on the Remembrance questline for the Wylder class, this is one of the steps you must complete.
By following these instructions, you will know exactly where to go, how to deal with any obstacles, and how to progress once you have the Whetstone.
Activating the Remembrance
Once you spawn into the map, make sure first to activate the Remembrance in your journal. After dropping, you should see a special map marker with a red flame indicating the Remembrance's location.
Host Requirement
Keep in mind that you need to be the host of the lobby. If you try to play with friends and get both of your quests done at the same time, you must use the same character because only one instance of the Remembrance quest will pop up—and it will be on the host.
Hopefully, a patch will fix this in the future, but for now, you need to host if you want to see the Remembrance step.
Low-Level Accessibility
This is not like other Remembrance quest steps, where you typically want to be at a high level before attempting them. You can get this one done at a moderately low level or even on day one. In fact, you can complete this at level four if you know where to go.
Locating the Cave Entrance
If you check your map, you should see a little cave entrance marked with a red marker. It may take some time to find the exact spot, especially if the storm is chasing you, so make sure you know precisely where to go. Once you locate that cave entrance, head inside.
Defeating the Boss and Activating the Whetstone
When you descend into the cave, you will encounter a Boss. As long as your teammates are nearby, the fight should be straightforward. Defeat the Boss, and you will be able to activate the Whetstone.
At this point, it does not matter if you fail the mission, but you do need to complete the rest of the lobby—you cannot simply back out.
If your team wipes before defeating the Boss, you will still earn progress, but you must reach at least the Boss chamber. Once you finish (or at least attempt) the Boss, the Whetstone activation will count, and you can leave.
