Equipment, Skills, and Abilities

As the second boss in the game, your options are still limited compared to later stages. However, careful choices can make a significant difference in the fight.

Equip the Empire Glory Sword for its balance of power and speed. For arena powers, use Frost Blast, which proves highly effective toward the end of the battle. As for trinkets, the Bracelet of Glimmer is invaluable. You obtain this item in the starting town, and it grants +15 attack when executing a perfect dodge.

Skill points are distributed generously throughout the game, making it easy to unlock functional abilities.

Recommended skills include Heavy Cleave and Shadow Ren. Heavy Cleave (level one) delivers quick, effective damage with minimal vulnerability, while Shadow Ren (level two) provides more damage but leaves you exposed, so use it cautiously. At this stage, focusing on a few efficient sword skills is enough to aid you during the fight.

Boss Strategy Overview

The Rose Queen fight contrasts sharply with the earlier Golden Lion battle. Most of her attacks are long-range, forcing you to close the distance strategically while avoiding incoming damage.

Once her first health bar is depleted, she introduces more complex and punishing abilities. Success depends on patience, precision dodges, and timely counterattacks.

Phase One: First Health Bar

Arrow and Vine Attacks

Arrows that call up vines along their way are the basic attack. If you try to dodge forward, you might hit the bushes even if you avoid the arrow. Sidestepping is the safest option.

Occasionally, Rose Queen charges a larger version of this attack. If struck, you will be stunned, and multiple vines will erupt around you, making it vital to dodge at the right time.

Aerial Arrow Rain

When she fires arrows into the air, circles appear at your feet. Quickly move out of these circles before arrows rain down. The shrinking of the circle acts as a visual cue. This attack repeats three to four times.

Instead of spamming dodges, wait a second before dodging to trigger a perfect dodge, rewarding you with Instant Slash Charge Counters. These charges enable you to close the distance and counterattack immediately, maximizing damage opportunities.

Horizontal Arrow Barrage

If she spins and kneels before firing, prepare for a horizontal line of arrows. Dodging through them is possible and also provides Instant Slash Counters, though the speed and damage potential of this move require caution.

Close-Combat Combo

Though rare, Rose Queen uses a short-range combo of three strikes followed by a powerful slash that produces a dodge ring. Be prepared to evade this sequence when she closes in.

Cut down on her stamina bar with combos and powers during this phase. When her energy goes down, use your strongest moves on her. To get the most out of your Sync Finisher, wait until her energy bar is almost complete.

Phase Two: Second Health Bar

Arena Rose Trap

After losing her first health bar, Rose Queen dramatically alters the fight. She throws her sword or shoots an arrow into the ground, leaping onto it as roses bloom around the arena.

Exploding rose bushes randomly appear during this phase. Avoid stepping on them while preparing to dodge her familiar ranged attacks.

Dive Bomb and Rose Trail

Her dive bomb is among her most dangerous moves. Upon landing, roses spread along the ground, damaging and knocking you back if you touch them. Jump toward her after she lands to minimize the risk and continue the assault.

Skating Rose Circles

Occasionally, she skates around the arena in a circle, leaving behind rose bushes that later explode. Maintain distance until this attack ends to avoid unnecessary damage.

Attack Patterns

In addition to these new skills, Rose Queen continues to revisit older moves and refine them. Keep your stamina up for dodges, use Instant Slash Counters well, and hit her with attacks when she gets back up. Keep your potions close by, because the battle can quickly make you sick.

Key Tips for Success

Use Frost Blast to gain an advantage during critical moments in phase two.

Rely on sidesteps rather than forward dodges to avoid vine attacks.

Perfect dodges not only reduce damage but also provide powerful counter opportunities with Instant Slash Charges.

Save your Sync Finisher for moments when her stamina bar is almost restored.

Always keep an eye on exploding roses during phase two, as these can disrupt combos and leave you open to further attacks.

By carefully studying her patterns and using these strategies, you can overcome the Rose Queen and progress deeper into Lost Soul Aside.
