Lost Soul Aside features a wide variety of challenging bosses, and one of the most notable is the Giant Phantom, the final boss of Chapter One.
This guide tells you everything you need to know to get ready for the fight, figure out how the boss attacks, and effectively defend yourself. Your goal is to defeat this challenging enemy and advance in the story by employing these tactics.

Equipment, Skills & Abilities
By the time you face the Giant Phantom, you will have access to a good selection of equipment. When it comes to swords, Snow Peak is a good choice, and the right weapon additions can make it even better.
If you prefer the greatsword, the one you just received will be sufficient for this fight. When arena powers are available, don't use Frost Blast on this boss because it doesn't work. Pick a different skill to go with your weapons instead.
It is suggested that you wear the Bracelet of Glimmer, as it enhances the strength of attacks after perfect dodges. Focus on skills that improve your greatsword, like Leaping Strike, potion extension, and energy boost. These give you a significant edge in battle, letting you stay close to the boss and take advantage of gaps.
Understanding the Giant Phantom's Attacks
On normal difficulty, the Giant Phantom may appear intimidating, but many of its flashy attacks are less dangerous than they look. Recognizing the boss's attack patterns is the key to victory.

Phantom Fist Combo
The most frequent move is the Phantom Fist. The boss slams the ground, creating two phantom fists that appear at its side. This is followed by a spinning attack that tracks your position, ending with a ground smash.
The spin attack can be dodged repeatedly, giving you charge opportunities based on your weapon. With the sword, you build instant slash charges, while the greatsword grants Wheel of Termination charges, capable of dealing heavy stamina damage if timed correctly.
Double Energy Ball Attack
This move's also known as the Double Energy Ball Attack. One arm creates an orb that resembles a black hole, and the other forms a clear energy ball. The clear one is thrown first and is very fast, so you have to be very careful to avoid it.
The blackhole orb follows more slowly and makes a blast when it lands in a specific spot. Stay away from the blast zone to prevent damage.
Ground Fist Summons

At times, fists emerge from the ground in single strikes or in clusters, releasing small energy blasts. This can trigger multiple fists across the arena. Mobility is essential during this phase—keep moving and conserve dodge charges for when you genuinely need them.
Barrier Mini-Game
As the battle progresses, the barrier mechanic appears. Use your greatsword to activate the mechanism and survive incoming attacks before resuming the fight.
When the Giant Phantom's stamina bar depletes, it collapses, giving you a window to unleash heavy damage. Save your sink finisher until the stamina bar is nearly full again for maximum efficiency.
Electric Fence Attack
Once it's fully healed, the boss uses the Electric Fence attack, which does damage as it moves. Try not to get caught in its path, and keep a close eye on your surroundings to maintain your movement.
Shield Mechanic and Pillar Activation
Upon reaching the first health bar's end, the Giant Phantom powers up, requiring two rounds of shield mechanics. The first works as before—strike the mechanism with your greatsword. The second requires hitting four pillars to activate the barrier before striking the arena mechanism.
Rotating Beam Attack

The boss also unleashes a Rotating Beam Attack, emitting four beams while spinning clockwise at the center of the arena. Despite its threatening appearance, this attack can be avoided by dodging straight through the beams.
In its variation, the boss moves around while the beams persist. You can dodge through as before or stay near the center to avoid excessive movement while countering attacks.
Strategy and Execution
Please stick to the tool you choose, whether it's a sword or a greatsword, and use skills that cover a lot of ground. Be careful with dodges, keep the pressure on during openings, and use breaks in stamina to do the most damage possible.
As the fight goes on, keep getting used to the new rules by avoiding beams and traps and acting quickly during shield scenes.
With persistence, precise dodging, and well-timed counters, the Giant Phantom will eventually fall, marking the completion of Chapter One.
