In the Mind's Eye mission Get to the Control Room, the objective is to infiltrate a secured facility and reach the Control Room atop its highest tower. The player begins outside the compound, where a lone Drone patrols near the entrance.
Although this particular unit may sometimes glitch—such as walking into walls instead of following its usual route—it remains essential to avoid its line of sight to prevent mission failure.
Understanding Drone Detection
Each Drone has a three-state warning system that is shown by its lights. The unit's light glows green when it doesn't know a player is nearby. When the Drone starts to focus on movement, the light changes to yellow, which means it is more aware.
If it keeps seeing things in its field of view, the light turns red, ending the mission right away. So, patience and time are essential if you want to get by without being seen.
Initial Approach
The recommended path skirts the perimeter of the facility's outer wall. At the mission's outset, the Drone is positioned near a low barrier; the player must remain crouched and out of its triangular sightline.
In cases where the Drone malfunctions, it may wander into obstacles, but this cannot be relied upon—maintaining distance and moving only when the light is Green ensures safe passage.
Navigating to the Control Room
After bypassing the patrol unit, proceed toward the compound's central tower. Look for the building with the highest spire; the Transmitter resides at its summit. The installation location is communicated prior to the mission's start and should be adhered to precisely.
Upon entering the interior corridors, the player will encounter reinforced doors requiring electrical overrides. Deploy a Zap Device at each sealed entry to progress upward without alerting nearby guards or automated defenses.
Legal Considerations
Everything that happens inside the building has to follow Red Rock Law. Any deviation, like talking to security guards without permission or messing with systems that aren't supposed to be touched, can lead to a stronger security reaction.
During the facility's more extended curfew, guards walk around in pairs, trying to distract or separate a single guard from being caught right away. Following the law to the letter will make getting to the Control Room easier.
