Upgrading your Water Gun in Pokémon Pokopia is actually very simple once you know what unlock you need first. The main step is getting access to Chef Dente in Rocky Ridges. After that, you can make a special food item that temporarily boosts your water ability. This makes early farming and general area work much faster.

Unlock Chef Dente in Rocky Ridges

The first thing you need is Chef Dente. This unlock happens in Rocky Ridges, and it is the part that matters most. If Chef Dente is not available yet, you cannot make the food that upgrades the ability. That means your first goal is progressing far enough in Rocky Ridges to unlock him.

Gather the Pot and Water

Once Chef Dente is unlocked, gather the ingredients for the recipe. You need a Pot and a lot of Water. Both of these can be bought from the shop. They can also be crafted later as you keep progressing and start using Copper Ingots.

This part is easy, but you do need enough water ready before you start cooking. If you already have the materials saved up, you can move to the next step right away.

Cook Simple Soup

Take the Pot to the stove and place it on top. Then add the Water and begin cooking. This creates Simple Soup, which powers up your Water Gun. Without Simple Soup, the ability stays at its basic range.

The cooking process is short, and this is the full trick behind the upgrade. There is no separate skill tree or permanent menu upgrade here. It comes from using the right food item.

Consume the Soup to Boost Water Gun

After the Simple Soup is ready, use it. Once consumed, a small yellow icon appears above your water ability. That icon shows the effect is active. As soon as you hold down the Water Gun, you will notice the difference.

Instead of watering only a few spaces, the splash now reaches a wider area. This makes a big difference when you need to cover more ground quickly.

What the Upgrade Changes

The improved Water Gun hits multiple spaces at once. In the example, it goes from about five spaces to around nine. That is a strong increase, especially early in the game when the normal version feels limited.

If you are doing a lot of watering, this upgrade is one of the easiest ways to save time and speed up your progress.
