PRAGMATA Guide | How to Hack Efficiently

How Diana’s hack system works and how to use it better in fights.

The hacking mechanic is what sets PRAGMATA apart from other sci-fi shooters. Enemies are designed to take damage until Diana opens them up, so fights get a lot easier once you read the grid quickly and know where to go. You should think of every hack as a setup tool that makes a short damage window, not as a puzzle that doesn't connect.

Why hacks are important in every fight

The early game teaches one thing very clearly: armor is the real issue. A good hack shows Hugh what part of the enemy is really important, and that's when he can do real damage. If you don't hack right away or wait too long, even simple enemies will live longer than they should, and fights will get messy for no reason.

Use nodes that have a clear purpose

Some nodes are about making things more efficient, while others are about spreading pressure across a group. Decode lowers defenses and makes the next shots more powerful. Multi-Hack gets stronger when crowds start to form and spreads its effects to enemies nearby. Using nodes to make the room easier is the best way to get the best results, not chasing every tile on the grid.

Don't play the grid too much

Most of the time, a fast, clean route is better than a greedy one. The puzzle might give you extra tiles, but your goal is to get to the end and set off the effect before the enemies get too strong. A shorter hack keeps the fight going and gives you more time to take advantage of armor that is exposed. That pacing is more important than getting the most out of every board.

Restock and try new things at the Shelter

Nodes are a resource, but you shouldn't keep them forever. The Shelter lets you change your setup and refill it, so it's a good idea to try out different combinations instead of sticking with the same one. Once stronger nodes and upgrades are available, hacking gets faster, smoother, and in some cases, strong enough to do more work than the guns.
