PS3 RIP AUG 19 2010

Title says it all really. Today was the day my PlayStation 3 died. It was the second one I've owned after the hard-drive on the first one decided it'd had enough. This time I got the dreaded Yellow Light of Death and nothing will turn on now. It also swallowed a disc, but I took it apart and salvaged it.

The most annoying thing about the whole thing was the fact that I was one trophy off of a platinum on Ratchet & Clank and now in order to get it I have to complete the game again twice. That's another forty hours of my life spent on a game I've already been through nearly twice already. I've also lost nearly 300 hours of Pro Evolution Soccer editing, but I can live with that until the new one comes out October, plus I've lost a few games from my hard-drive such as Worms and Bomberman, but hopefully I'll be able to re-download them for free via my account.

On the sunny side I've just ordered a nice shiny new PS3 250gb Slim from the catalogue, which comes packaged with ModNation Racers and an extra DualShock 3 controller. Oh and i complained to EA yesterday about one of their games and they responded by offering me a free game of theirs of my choice, which was nice. So I guess there's a few plus points to focus on, whilst trying to block from my mind the hard work put into that machine.
