Using the Recycler

You get Silicon by placing Tech Equipment into a Recycler. In the first area of the game, there is a room that contains a Recycler you can connect to and operate. When the machine is active, any compatible object placed inside it is broken down into materials in The Last Caretaker.

Recycling Tech Equipment

A Monitor can be placed into the Recycler, and the output will include Silicon, which appears as a white package. Tech Equipment often produces multiple material types when processed, so you receive more than one resource per item.

You can also recycle a Printer, which provides Silicon, and a Computer, which yields the same material. Both items function as consistent sources when you need additional units in The Last Caretaker.

Processing Deactivated Robots

A reliable source of Silicon is a deactivated Robot. When placed into the Recycler, it yields two units of Silicon. This allows you to gather the material in larger quantities with fewer items.

Recycling multiple pieces of Tech Equipment will gradually build up the amount of Silicon you need for crafting and progression in The Last Caretaker.
