2023 brought us plenty of fighting game gems, from Street Fighter 6 to Mortal Kombat 1, but fighting game aficionados are in for a treat as 2024 has some exciting fighting game releases on the horizon. Here's a list of some of our top picks, in no particular order.

Rivals 2, Fighting Games 2024, Noobfeed

1. Rivals 2 (TBA 2024)

If you're a fan of Super Smash Bros, then you will love Rivals 2. This platform fighter is a part of “the next generation of platform fighters” according to its Steam page. The game has made significant improvements from the first game, not just in visuals, which is a clean and cartoony 3D look, but also in terms of gameplay, as Rivals 2 will feature shields, ledges, grabs, and throws, as well as a roster full of unique characters. Rivals 2 is set to release sometime in 2024 for PC.

Multiversus, Fighting Games 2024, Noobfeed

2. MultiVersus (TBA 2024)

Now, you're probably wondering what Multiversus is on this list. Indeed, it was released last year, right? Wrong; MultiVersus was in open beta in 2023 and closed down temporarily. This Smash Bros styled character beat ‘em up features numerous characters from multiple Warner Bros, prosperities include characters from beloved cartoons such as Scooby Doo and Steven Universe. Hype for this game hasn't died down and there certainly is a bright future ahead for this mascot brawler. MultiVersus will release in early 2024 on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

Die by the Blade, Fighting Games 2024, Noobfeed

3. Die by the Blade (TBA 2024)

Fighting game fans who do something a bit more unconventional can look forward to Die by the Blade. This unique take on the fighting game genre does away with fists and kicks and instead puts you in the role of a cyberpunk samurai warrior. The game will feature intense combat where players will need to plan out their attacks carefully, as every move of their blade could mean one move closer to defeat. Die by the Blade is set to release in early 2024 on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

Orbitals, Fighting Games 2024, Noobfeed

4. Oribtals (TBA)

Now, much like Die by the Blade, Orbitals is another unique take on the fighting game genre. Orbitals calls itself a “bullet brawler” and there is no better way to describe it. Players will need to face off against each other in monster-filled arenas where they'll get to use a variety of unique skills and weapons, as well as the ability to control gravity itself. The game will come with multiple modes; whether you want to play solo or with a friend, Orbitals has it covered. Orbitals is yet to get a set release date but will be available for PC.

Project L, Fighting Games 2024, Noobfeed

5. Project L (TBA)

Not much is known about Project L, this upcoming fighting game is a spin-off of Riot Games’ famous MOBA, League of Legends. From what we know about the game, this fighting game will have you and another player face off in 2v2 matches where the both of you need to work together to defeat the opposing team. As stated earlier, we sadly don't know much about the game, but from what we've seen, things look promising. Project L has no set release date and will likely release for PC and consoles.

Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi, Fighting Games 2024, Noobfeed

6. Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi (TBA)

Not much is known about the upcoming Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi. The game was first teased way back in March 2023 and Bandai Namco have been nothing but tight lipped about the arena fighter based on the Dragon Ball manga and anime series. Hopefully, in 2024 we will hear more about game. Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi has no set release date and what it will release on is unknown.

Varvarion, Fighting Games 2024, Noobfeed

7. Varvarion (TBA)

In Varvarion, you will swap fists for giant swords and questionable fashion choices. This upcoming fighting game will give players a chance to experience some epic battles that embody the over-the-top high-action fight scenes found in their favorite anime, such as Dragon Ball and My Hero Academia, with flashy attacks and true “protag” badassery. Just, uhm…. Don't mind the “unique” character designs. Varvarion has no set release date and will release for PC.

Trajes Fatais: Suits of Fate, Fighting Games 2024, Noobfeed

8. Trajes Fatais: Suits of Fate (TBA)

There's nothing more recognizable for the fighting game genre than good ol' fashioned pixel art style. Trajes Fatais: Suits of Fate takes place after a powerful entity wrecks a costume party and makes everyone's costume embody the power of whatever the costume was based on. Players will play as the poor birthday girl and her bodyguard as they fight against the recently transformed guests. The game will feature a large roster of unique characters and multiple game modes. Trajes Fatais: Suits of Fate has no set release date and will release on PC.

Final Fury, Fighting Games 2024, Noobfeed

9. Final Fury (TBA)

Fighting games are awesome to play, they give you a rush of adrenaline and get your blood pumping, and that's just giving you the viewpoint of a spectator; what if you were in the fight? What if you directly controlled your character? Look no further than Final Fury, a VR fighting game that will literally change your whole perspective on the genre. They game is set in a vibrant sci-fi world and you will play as a contestant in a grand tournament, and as stated earlier, you will finally get to experience what it would be like to be a fighter in the ring. Final Fury has no set release date and will release for PC.

Tekken 8, Fighting Games 2024, Noobfeed

10. Tekken 8 (26 January 2024)

Probably one of the biggest titles of this list is of course, Tekken 8, the next installment of Bandai Namco’s acclaimed Tekken Series. This next entry will be built in Unreal Engine 5 and will feature many of our favorite Tekken characters, such as King, Devil Kazuya, and, of course, Jin Kazama. There will also be plenty of new faces, such as the stylish Victor and coffee nut Azucena. The game will even have a new game mode called Arcade Quest, featuring long-time rivals Jin and Kazuya battling it out for supremacy. Tekken 8 will release on 26 January 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S
