Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 Guide | All Secrets and Purity Seals in Flash Freeze

Flash Freeze is the second mission on the Frozen Terror campaign path in Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2. The Level contains eight Secrets and one Purity Seal. You'll need to break through ice walls, search the rooms around the colored-key consoles, and explore hidden passages to find every collectible. 

All Flash Freeze Secrets and Purity Seals

Secret 1: Machine Spirit Behind the Crates

1. At the beginning of Flash Freeze, enter the first room.

2. Before leaving through the main door, check behind the crates on the left.

3. Look for a block of ice concealing a hidden space.

4. Shoot the ice to break it.

5. Enter the opening and collect the Machine Spirit.

The Machine Spirit upgrades your currently equipped weapon, so switch to the weapon you want to improve before picking it up.

Secret 2: Grenade Boost in the Console Arena

1. Continue until you reach the large arena containing the red and purple key consoles.

2. Clear the enemies so you can explore safely.

3. Look to the left of the consoles for a square hole in the floor.

4. Drop into the hole.

5. Collect the Grenade Boost at the bottom.

Make sure you explore this hole before moving on to the buildings containing the Red Key. 

Secret 3: Boltgun Magazine Behind the Boxes

1. From the console arena, take the left-hand route toward the buildings containing the Red Key.

2. Continue through the building until you reach the third room.

3. Look to your right for an opening concealed behind stacked boxes.

4. Move through the opening and follow the hidden passage to its end.

5. Collect the Boltgun magazine.

Secret 4: Machine Spirit in the Red Key Room

1. Continue until you reach the room containing the Red Key.

2. Before leaving, search the walls for a switch.

3. Activate the switch to reveal a hidden passage.

4. Enter the newly opened route.

5. Collect the Machine Spirit upgrade.

Remember to equip the weapon you want to upgrade before collecting the Machine Spirit. 

Secret 5: Machine Spirit Near the Right Wall

1. Return to the large console arena.

2. Follow the right-hand wall until you find metal structures with an opening beneath them.

3. Break through the ice blocking the opening.

4. Drop into the passage and follow it until you climb back up.

5. As you reach the first platform, look to your left.

6. Collect the Machine Spirit from the small alcove beside the platforms.

This area is easy to overlook because the passage takes you below the arena's main floor. 

Secret 6: Boltgun Magazine in the Left Passage

1. Return to the console arena and head toward the left side beyond the consoles.

2. Look for a passage blocked by ice.

3. Shoot the ice to clear the entrance.

4. Enter the passage and follow it to the end.

5. Collect the Boltgun magazine.

Check this passage before progressing toward the Purple Key, as the ammunition is tucked away from the main route. 

Purity Seal 1: Hidden Room Near the Purple Key

1. Continue along the route toward the Purple Key.

2. Look for a small room branching off the main path.

3. Enter the room and defeat the enemies inside.

4. Search the room for the Purity Seal.

5. Collect it to receive the Seal and 50 Boltgun ammunition.

This is the only Purity Seal in Flash Freeze. Collect it before continuing toward the Yellow Door. 

Secret 7: Munitions Boost Behind the Skull Switch

1. Reach the Purple Key area and look for the elevated route above the consoles.

2. Follow the stairs down from the elevated section.

3. At the bottom of the final set of stairs, look to your right for a skull concealed behind ice.

4. Shoot the ice and then shoot the skull switch.

5. Turn around and look for the metal door that opens.

6. Enter the room and collect the Munitions Boost.

It's easy to miss the skull switch if you keep going down the stairs without checking the right-hand side. 

Secret 8: Machine Spirit in the Cave Near the Yellow Door

1. Activate both the red and purple consoles to progress through the Level.

2. Take the lift down to the lower area.

3. Locate the Yellow Door and check the cave entrance to its left.

4. Enter the cave and follow the passage to the end.

5. Collect the Machine Spirit to complete all eight Secrets.

As with other Machine Spirit pickups, make sure you have the weapon you want to upgrade equipped.

Final Thoughts

Flash Freeze contains eight Secrets and one Purity Seal. The console arena is the most important area to explore thoroughly because it contains multiple collectibles on both sides of the main route.

Before leaving the Level, check that your counters show 8/8 Secrets and 1/1 Purity Seal. If you miss anything, replay Flash Freeze through Level Select and collect the remaining items.
