The talented English voice actress Annie Warburton won the prize for "Gaming - Best Performance - Female" at the One Voice Awards 2022, which is the UK's premier voiceover conference. This was announced by the publisher Wired Productions and the leading Italian studio LKA. Annie won the award because of how well she voiced Giulia, the main character of the famous first-person psychological thriller Martha Is Dead, who is a very complicated person. The story takes place in Tuscany, Italy, in 1944, when fighting between German and Allied forces is getting worse. Giulia is looking into how her twin sister, Martha, died. Martha Is Dead has been praised by critics all over the world since it came out earlier this year. It blurs the lines between reality, superstition, and the tragedy of war.
"As a voice actor, it was a dream come true to play Giulia. From the sensitive and complicated topics to the different voices, this role challenged me in the best way". - Said Annie Warburton. "It's not often that I get to play a game's main character who is so complex and well-made, so I'm very grateful to Wired Productions and LKA for giving me the chance to play Giulia. I gave this role my all because I wanted to do her justice, so I'm thrilled to win this award."
The physical copy of Martha Is Dead is currently available for PlayStation 4 and 5. The game is rated M (Mature) by the ESRB, 18 by PEGI, and 16 by USK. The game is recommended for people over the age of 18 and has the right age rating. Players who might find disturbing scenes with blood, body parts being cut off, people being disfigured, and people hurting themselves should not play this game.
