Here’s a guide on how you can farm Metals early in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.

Gathering enough materials to upgrade the Jackdaw is much easier if you know where to look. Metal is the most valuable resource for upgrading your ship, but farming it through normal combat can take a long time.

The Serranilla Frigate Loop

The Serranilla region sits on the southern edge of the map. In Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, the difficulty level increases the further south you sail, meaning the ships down here carry much more cargo. This area is full of high-value targets, specifically Brigs and Frigates.

Pull out your Spyglass to check what nearby targets are carrying before engaging. A standard Brig usually carries around 60 units of metal, while a Frigate can hold anywhere from 90 to 110 units in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.

These targets offer the perfect balance for mid-tier ships because they carry a high resource count but are still relatively easy to disable.

Use your Mortars to strike the target from a distance, then pull alongside to launch a standard broadside volley. When boarding, aim for the glowing explosive barrels on their deck with your swivel gun to quickly clear out defenders.

Winning the boarding battle on a Frigate automatically rewards you with the cargo alongside a Captain's Lockbox bonus of 3,000 Gold Coins from the main cabin.

The Man-o'-War Strategy

If your ship is heavily upgraded and you want the highest possible payout from a single target, hunt down a heavy Man-o'-War. A standard four-star warship like the HMS Invincible or the HMS Dragon carries between 150 and 180 units of metal in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.

Do not waste your time fighting five-star warships for resources; they are much tougher to destroy and often carry less metal than four-star variants.

If you find a stationary warship, it acts as a sitting duck. Park the Jackdaw at a safe distance and rain down shots using the Elite Mortar upgrade. This allows you to completely deplete their health bar from outside their firing range.

Once the ship is disabled, you must board it to secure the full reward. If you choose to simply shoot a disabled ship until it sinks without boarding it, you will only receive half the resources.

A ship carrying 180 metal will only drop 90 units if it sinks in open water. Simply win the boarding match to instantly secure the full cargo alongside a massive 5,500 gold payout from the built-in cabin lockbox in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.

The Pirate Hunter Rampage

If you want a faster and more action-packed method, travel to any easy, low-tier region at the top of the map.

You can use your Battering Ram upgrade to instantly destroy small Schooners and target vessels with a single forward collision. Ramming small ships into splinters takes seconds and lets you clear entire fleets rapidly.

Destroying multiple ships in a short period triggers a high Wanted Status in the corner of your screen.

This draws the attention of aggressive Pirate Hunters. While these hunters look intimidating with their ragged red sails and custom uniforms, they are excellent targets for resource farming.

Hunters spawn in pairs and carry large amounts of cargo, often holding 55 and 80 units of metal respectively. Because they tend to sail close together, you can use your mortars to deal massive splash damage to both hulls simultaneously in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.

When you initiate a boarding action on one hunter, the second ship will completely stop firing at you, giving you a safe window to clear the deck and claim your metal.

The Hideout Salvage Method

You can secure an extra source of materials without engaging in naval combat or risking your crew. Go inside the main cabin of the Jackdaw or visit your manor hideout on Great Inagua and approach the Fleet Planning Table.

Open the fleet management menu to view the ships you have captured throughout your journey. Choose any low-level ship in your inventory and choose the option to salvage the ship in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

Salvaging a basic ship like the Aurora will immediately dismantle the hull and give you a small bonus pack of 6 units of metal. While it does not match the massive payouts of high-sea boarding actions, it is completely safe and requires zero travel time.
