Figment Takes Players To The (Colorful) Recesses Of The Human Mind

Figment is an upcoming title described as a musical action-adventure.

Living in a place like Denmark, with its eternal icy expanses and vast armies of trolls aiming to steal one's cocoa, must push one towards retreating inside their heads more often. It's the sole explanation I could find for Bedtime Digital Games' fascination with the human subconscious, as pictured in their previous project Back To Bed, and their upcoming title Figment. An isometric action adventure title, Figment will put players in the shoes of Dusty, the grumpy voice of courage belonging to the mind where the game takes place. Alongside Piper, his optimistic companion, he will have to face away nightmarish creatures that have begun spreading fear through the colorful, surrealist landscapes that make up said mind.

Figment will include both combat segments and puzzles. More interestingly, the title also promises "a full score of musical performances, nightmarish and otherwise, which are defined by your exploration of the world". Players will be able to explore Figment's hand-drawn world sometime in September. The game is set to release on PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch. Have a look at the music video for The Plague, one of the game's nightmares. It's quite possibly the best thing I've seen in the past months.
