At the start of the month, it was revealed that Frostpunk had entered the last stages of development. As the release date draws closer, 11 bit studios have come forth with a new update, revealing a few endgame elements, the game's price and box art. Since Frostpunk is centered around leading your people and ensuring their survival, this can be done in certain ways, some more despotic than others. Murders can be dealt with in a number of ways. Rioting citizens can be listened to, or repressed using guards. The announcement focused on the path of Order which gives access to a handful of new laws and buildings. Neighbourhood Watch will allow for building Watchtowers, which will have neighbours in their vicinity protect each other, raising hope levels. Guard Stations will have organised militia protecting the people, similarly raising hope while also lowering discontent. Patrol will give guards the ability to patrol the streets near their Guard Stations, but ask for more food in exchange.
While no release date was given, Frostpunk's digital version will be available for the price of $29,99/EUR 29,99 or your regional equivalent. The title will not have day one controller support. The next update is said to arrive "in few weeks at most". Have a look at the full announcement, which includes the game's box art as well as a video covering the path of Order.
