Announced at the end of February, Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden has received its first gameplay showcase in the form of a video that's over 30 minutes long. The video opens with a party of three exploring enemy territory. Sneaking allows for positioning behind cover and initiating the battle, which assures the first turn goes to the player. The battles are turn-based, in a similar fashion to X-COM's. The mutation system was also showcased, which allowed one of the characters to sprout wings and fly above the battlefield, gaining 100% crit chance. Mutations can be unlocked by investing points earned from levelling up and customized outside of battle.

The video the moves over to The Ark, a hub area of sorts, where weapons can be upgraded and items bought. It's worth putting some time aside and watching the entire video as the title does look promising. Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is set to arrive on PS4, Xbox One and PC later this year.
