A guide on how to find all wayshrines in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
Game Guide by Groot on May 09, 2025
This guide will help you locate all nine wayshrines in Oblivion Remastered. These shrines are essential both for receiving buffs and for completing the pilgrimage mission. The way shrines aren't marked on your map means you'll need to locate them manually using the directions provided below.
What to Look For
Way shrines appear as small pagoda-type structures with large pillars. They look relatively similar to each other and are quite distinct in the landscape, making them generally easy to spot once you're in the right area.
Shrine Locations
Arkay Wayshrine
You can find the shrine of Arkay just north of Anvil and southeast of Bleak Mine. When you approach the shrine, interact with it. After a few seconds, your quest dialogue should update to confirm you've completed this particular shrine.
Mara Wayshrine
The shrine of Mara is located just west of Skingrad and west of the Cursed Mine. These structures are distinctive with their large pillars and should be pretty easy to spot in the landscape. Approach this one, click to interact with it, and wait a couple of seconds for your quest log to update.
Dibella Wayshrine
For the shrine of Dibella, head south of Weynon Priory and Chorrol in the northwest area of the map. This one is situated in a dip below some hills, so you might not see it from a distance. You may need to walk a bit before spotting it. As with the others, approach and interact with it.
Akatosh Wayshrine
The shrine of Akatosh can be challenging to locate because it's white and stony in an area that's similarly colored. You'll find it south of the Orange Road and south of Bruma. If you go to the Wildeye Stables and run down to the road, you should see a small staircase leading up to it, making it easier to spot. Approach and interact with it to update your quest log.
Julianos Wayshrine
Head southeast of the Imperial City and southwest of Fort Sejanus to find the shrine of Julianos. If you're traveling down the Yellow Road at this location, the shrine is just off to the side of the pathway. There are similar structures like aided wells nearby, so make sure to go to the exact location on the map.
Kynareth Wayshrine
The shrine of Kynareth is located on the east side of the map, near the Basin. The deserted Mine is to the north. The best approach is to head for the small lake in this area, then proceed to the shrine's location and interact with it.
Talos Wayshrine
The shrine of Talos is relatively easy to find. It's located south of the Imperial City and southeast of Hircine Grove, just off the shore and slightly off the path. Head to this area and you'll find it without much trouble.
Zenithar Wayshrine
This is one of the easiest shrines to reach. The shrine of Zenithar is directly north of Bravil on the south side of the map. If you go to the stables and walk north, you'll see it straight ahead from the road. Don't forget to interact with it before moving on.
Stendarr Wayshrine
The final wayshrine belongs to Stendarr and is located south of the map, south of Bravil, or north of Leyawiin. It's just north of the Water's Edge settlement, past a small peninsula. You'll find it just off the side of the road—the road is below, with water nearby. Interact with this shrine to complete the pilgrimage portion of the quest.
That covers all nine wayshrines in Oblivion Remastered. Following these directions should allow you to find each shrine quickly and easily. Remember that interacting with all shrines is necessary to complete the pilgrimage quest.
