Starting the Quest

Head inside the great hall in the main castle area of the city. You'll need to speak with the queen, but she might not be available depending on the time of day. If she's not present, wait until 9:00 AM when she appears. Once you speak with her, she'll direct you to Dragonclaw Rock, which will be marked on your map.

Finding Dragonclaw Rock

Fast travel to Dragonclaw Rock if you've already discovered it. When you arrive, you'll need to consult the diary translation in your inventory under "All Items." Reading the diary is necessary as the quest doesn't provide a map marker for the following location.

Locating the First Landmark

The first feature is a statue not far from where you can quickly get to Dragonclaw Rock. Just keep going north until you reach a small cave. Get ready to face an ogre and a few other enemies who are watching the door.

Exploring the Cave

Go into the cave and look around until you find a dead body. Look around the bones to see what order they are in. This will bring your quest up to date. Fight your way through the cave system, beating enemies along the way. Even though there are a lot of enemies, the road is clear and doesn't branch off in any way.

Reaching Pale Pass

After traveling through the cave, you'll emerge at Pale Pass. Follow the path as instructed by your quest update. Continue along the path until you reach two statues, which will trigger another quest update. Keep following the path as far as possible until you get a fort.

Entering the Fort

When you reach the fort, enter through the door. Inside, you'll find two paths: one leading to the "Eyes of the Serpent" and another to the "Sick Gales of the Serpent." Choose the Eyes of the Serpent first. Be prepared for numerous enemies inside the fort, and ensure you have repair hammers as your equipment will need maintenance.

Navigating the Serpent Chambers

After exploring the Eyes of the Serpent area, you'll discover two exits labeled "Fangs of the Serpent." Please take one of them and watch out for traps as you proceed. Turn the handle to lower a bridge, cross it, and continue forward. You'll eventually reach a room with multiple doors. Go through the door straight ahead.

Finding the Mad Stone

Inside, you'll encounter a ghost. When addressing him, choose "I'm here for your orders" instead of mentioning the Mad Stone directly. This will cause him to leave without attacking you. Enter the room behind him to find the Mad Stone and collect it.

Exiting the Dungeon

After obtaining the Mad Stone, look for an exit. Go through the door to the right of the treasure room. Turn the handle to lower the bridges, hop down, and make your way across. Follow the straight path to reach the "Mouth of the Serpent," which is an alternate route through the dungeon. Continue until you find the exit.
