In Oblivion Remastered, you may become overburdened with the items you're carrying. You can view your weight relative to your maximum carry capacity in your inventory. Even after leveling up your carry capacity, you'll still need storage.
You can rent a room in the market district for 20 gold and store items in the chest there. However, the contents of rented rooms will eventually disappear.
Buying a House
After you have 3,000 gold, head to the market district in the Imperial City. Up the stairs, turn right, and locate the Office of Imperial Commerce. Enter and talk to the NPC sitting behind the counter.
If you don't have the required trust level, you can play a minigame to build up trust, or if you don't feel like playing their minigame, you can attempt to bribe them with gold and increase their level of trust.
When completed, select the option reading, "I just happen to have 2,000 gold," and you will be given a house key and a quest.
Starting the Quest
Exit the building, open your quest menu, and enable the house quest. You will see a red marker on both your compass and map. Fast travel to the Waterfront, run northwest, ascend the stairs, and locate your house. Use your key to open the door.
As you enter, you will receive a quest notice directing you to go to Three Brothers Trade Goods. Go back to the market district and the shop by following the quest marker. Inside, speak to Sergius, and then select the house storage space option in the bartering menu.
Storing Items
Go back to your home. You will now notice a chest beside the fireplace. You can put things there. To place items in your chest, click to search, open your inventory, and then click to store the items you want. You also receive drawers beside the bed and on the opposite side of the room.
Once you have all the armor and weapons stored, your carry weight will decrease, allowing you more space. Whatever is stored will remain secure in your home.
